It's time once again to celebrate one of our favourite events in the wine calendar, Beaujolais Nouveau Day! Each year on the 3rd Thursday of November, this much lauded French region releases the first wines of the current vintage, and we're proud to be listing four fantastic examples of this fun and vibrant wine for this year's celebration. As is tradition, the wines will be shipped to arrive on the day itself, 18th November. Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrive!
Philippe Deschamps, Beaujolais Nouveau - Voted best joint 1st best Beaujolais Nouveau by the grower's association in 2019, this Bojo features pure and clean red fruit, with a bright, crunchy finish.
Guy Breton, Cuvee Fanchon - Guy Breton is one of the 'Gang of Four', a group of French winemakers who pioneered the natural wine movement. Here he presents a light but serious wine. Raspberry and red cherry are complimented by herbal notes and lemon pith. A remarkably long finish leaves the palate longing for more.
Kevin Descombes, Cuvee Keke - Fruity and lively, the vibrancy of this wine is offset with a pleasing depth of red liquorice and blackberry. Well balanced, with a lovely freshness on the finish.
Domaine Saint Cyr, Le French Kiss Kanon - Saint Cyr is the largest organic Domaine in the Beaujolais, producing everything from Nouveau to top villages cuvees. Strawberry and rose petal on the nose, the palate explodes with fresh fruit and liveliness, and a nice long finish.
